The Doors is a 1991 American biographical musical film directed by Oliver Stone. It tells of the life of singer Jim Morrison in the sixties and at the beginning of the seventies when the hippie movement was in vogue.
The movie shows how Jim made extraordinary success, his affair with Pamela, who kept beside him until the end of his life. Jim’s crazy life, his involvement with drugs, alcohol, confusions and love affairs, besides his growing obsession with death and his deep connections with North American xamanism. The movie also shows Jim’s interest in literature, including the name of the band was inspired in the book “The Doors of Perception” by Aldous Huxley.
It is a good summary of the story of Jim Morrison and The Doors. He goes beyond his limits living life to the fullest, which typifies the construction of a myth like him. Val Kilmer totally incorporated the personality of Jim Morrison, he played his part really well. Meg Ryan was also excellent as Pamela Courson in the movie.
It is recommended for the fans of The Doors and for those who like rock and have the interest to know more about Jim Morrison and all the legends that shared the amazing life of this rock star, who has been gaining more fans even on currents days. The Doors is a film that is worth seeing.
